Copper Harbor
Cooked some lunch and talked to two pastors from Indiana for a hot minute. Very low-key dudes who were on the Upper Peninsula to get some fresh air and some soul-sustenance. A third had already been dropped off for a day of solo contemplation. Went our own ways just after discovering we were both headed to Copper Harbor that day. The drive through the northern reaches of the UP kept a grin on my face. A unique amalgamation of Finnish and English culture begins to come to light the further from "down-state" one gets. About 4 hours of driving landed me in Copper Harbor, after which I went up to Brockway Mountain to obtain some cellular services and got in touch with a friend Jim. While he is still on the Outer Banks, he was born and raised in Copper Harbor so he was kind enough to tell his dad I was going to be in town and I set up camp behind their family bookstore. Walked into town and grabbed a drink along with a burger, the bartender was kind enough to throw in a shot of Jagermeister as a nightcap.
