Circumnavigation

Olympic Penninsula

Drove through most of the night from West Glacier to about the Columbia River in Washington.  Driving long hours can be tedious.  There are open roads and I can go as slow as I want at night or very early in the morning.  I'm getting better at this always traveling thing.  Been doing a little sprucing here and there around the truck.  This because I picked up a field mouse somewhere in Montana and had quite the battle for two days.  I emerged victorious; with the slight pang of guilt that any victor is bombarded with after crushing his hated enemy into the oblivion they deserve.  Rest in pepperonis, mouse.  All the warmongering thoughts aside, I made it to Seattle the next day.  Never went into the city; I've had my fill.  Camped about 20 miles east.  Woke up the next morning and drove through Olympia on my way to 101 North!  Olympic Peninsula was nice driving.  The northwest rain forests are otherworldly.  The way the clouds settle over all of the trees is fascinating.  The weirdest part, I think, is that there is so little brown that I traditionally associate with evergreens.  Only vivid greens of moss-covered trunks.  I'm painting all of these pictures with words because I took very few pictures! Got too caught up in driving and exploring... sue me. Oh, and I saw the Pacific Ocean for the first time just before sunrise.
