Grand Tetons

Awake at 4:00. Up at 4:30. Breakfast started at 5:00.  On the road at 5:30 with a cup of joe in hand.  Drove in the wrong direction for about 15 minutes, making my real departure time 6:00. Lame I know, but the sun still hadn't risen so I was feeling good about it.  Put on about 150 miles, getting me just to the border of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Then I posted up at a random point of interest Crowheart Butte, named because a chieftain presented his Crow enemies heart on a spear-point after the battle was done.  With this delightful bit of history I lounged in the truck and finished making the curtains along with a re-packening ritual.  Been using this website www.campendium.com to find some free sites.  Picked it up from my Irish/Scottish breakfast companions in the Badlands.  Highly recommend it, especially considering the availability and dispersed locations it shows.  Rolled into the Bridger-Teton with the run of 15 campsites, picked out the nugget, and posted up for dinner.  Some canned pinto beans with rice and assorted veggies along side an epic sunset sated the appetites (being both spiritual and physical).  There was still snow on the ground so my wood collection proved rather fruitless and I opted to idle the engine and heat up the interior of the Land Cruiser.  Pulled out the water colors and put some Cracker on blast.  When bed-time (9PM) rolled around I set up and did some star-gazing; was quite stellar, let me tell you.
